Gogoi exhorted the student community to aim higher and use the gadgets to do well in higher secondary and competitive examinations for getting admission to IITs and IIMs, saying he would like to see more Anundoram Borooah emerge from the student-friendly initiative and bring laurels to the state. Health and IT minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the computers given to successful students should make them proud. He said the move had been praised by other states who now want to launch similar scheme. "But they have not been able to because of funds constraints. We aree a poor state and yet we have been able to do it," he said, adding that the government was laying a lot of emphasis on education and IT sector. Education minister Gautam Bora, social welfare minister Akon Bora, chief secretary P. C. Sharma, the managing director of Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd, M. K.
