Correspondent, Dibrugarh, Feb 9: It may be a
meager amount for students and staffs of a school
like Moran Blind School (Janamangal Adarsha
Andha Bidyalaya), Moran, but the gesture of
the security personnel of Oil India Limited
(OIL), was embedded with love and affection
towards physically challenged fellow members
of the society. The entire amount of Rs 24,000
which was donated to JAAB, was collected by
the security personnel of OIL by performing
Bihu Hussori during last Bihu festival.
The Head of (Security), OIL, Captain Ananda
Baruah, accompanied by senior officials of the
department, at a colorful function organized
at JAAB recently, handed over the entire amount
to Victor Banerjee, noted and eminent actor,
who is also the President of the School Committee.
The principal of the school, Mohini Mohan Buragohain
was also present in the function.
Speakers, in their brief deliberation, appreciated
the gesture shown by the personnel of the security
department of OIL and hoped that other organizations
of the society would follow similar gesture.
It is worth mentioning that the JAAB is working
as voluntary organization in the state with
a mission to empower the blind children for
their inclusion in the mainstream of the society.
