GUWAHATI, July 19: Six Assam paddlers from rural areas will represent India in the first Commonwealth Countries’ Dragon Boat Championship scheduled to be held at Penang in Malaysia from July 22. The six paddlers who have been selected in the 24-member Indian team are Mainuddin Ahmed, Mushahab Ali, Dharmendra Das, Sahjahan Ali, Debabrata Choudhury and Ainal Ali. Both president and secretary of the Assam Traditional Sports and Dragon Boat Association Taher Ahmed and Basudev Thakuria will also accompany the team as chief of the contingent and deputy manager respectively. # #
