GUWAHATI, June 9: Assam Sports Journalists’ Association will reinstitute the annual award function of the sports persons from this year. The next edition of the award ceremony would likely to be held in October.

Meanwhile, Assam Sports Journalists’ Association today received a cheque of Rs 75,000 from local MLA Robin Bordoloi for the renovation of its office situated at the RG Baruah Sports Complex. A function in this regard was held at the Assam Olympic Office today where Bordoloi handed over the cheque to the officials of the Assam Sports Journalists’ Association. Another Rs 25,000 would soon be released once the first phase of work is completed.

In the same meeting, one minute silence was observed to condole the death of noted journalist Gauri Shankar Kalita and veteran footballer Manoranjan Banerjee. # #
