> Jayanta and team collect another Gold

GUWAHATI, June 10: Ace archer Jayanta Talukdar added another World Championship Gold Medal to his name as India lifted the men’s recurve team event title in the World Archery Championship Stage II held at Antalya, Turkey today. India beat USA by 218-214 in the final.

Indian team, comprising of Rahul Banerjee, Mangal Singh Champia and Jayanta Talukdar, were favourite in the final. Earlier, India faced USA for five occasions in the World Cup Competition and in all the five times India came out as victorious. This time Brady Ellison, Richard Johnson and Victor Wunderle who represented USA in the final today, got a golden opportunity to take the sweet revenge but they failed to capitalize the opportunity, thanks to a brilliant performance by the Indians.
