GUWAHATI, March 12 Over 30 leading bodybuilders
of the country will be seen in action in the 19th edition
of the Assam Bodybuilders Association organised R G Baruah
Memorial Mr Saraighat All India Bodybuilding Championship
which will be held at the Rabindra Bhawan here on March
15.
Disclosing this in a press conference today the organising
secretary Bhabajyoti Goswami said that they have invited
noted bodybuilders from states like Karnataka, Manipur,
Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand,
Uttar Pradesh, Delhi etc.
He also intimated that the top three position holders will
pocket prize money of Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000
respectively in the Rs 1,14,000 prize-money meet. Top 12
position holders will get cash award, Goswami revealed.
Goswami also informed that a nine-member Assam team consisting
of bodybuilders like Debashis Phukan, Arabinra Boro, Rikumoni
Bora, Dipankar Chetia, Joel Ekka, Sujit Boro, Tridib Bora,
Nipjyoti Phukan, Jiten Kalita will participate in the championship.
Technical official and former Mr India Munin Bora said
that it will be an open event and bodybuilders of height
as well as weight category will be able to take part in
this contest.
Organising bodys officials Paramesh Dutta, Anup Dutta,
Anup Choudhury also explained about the organising part
of the meet where DS Group will be the main financier.
